Abhimanyu Acharya
Abhimanyu Acharya was educated at various schools abroad
before taking his Senior Cambridge at The Scindia School
in
Gwalior. He proceeded then to pursue his under graduate
education at St. Stephens’ College in Delhi and took his
Master’s degree form Jawaharlal
Nehru University, New Delhi. He earned his doctorate in
Human Resources Management for the University of
Cheshire, United Kingdom. He first took up a teaching
assignment at St. George’s
College Mussoorie as the head of English and Drama. After a
stint as Additional Director of tourism with the Government
of India at Singapore. Dr. Acharya took up teaching at his
Alma Mater, The Scindia School, Gwalior. After a very
successful stint at Gwalior, he lift to head, as executive
Director, an Integrated Rural Development project,
Vishvaneedam International sarvodaya Centre under the aegis
of the Jamnalal Bajaj Seva Trust near Bangalore where he
stayed for 15 years. It was here that he developed his
expertise in alternate medicine. However, he continued to
visit various schools to anchor and conduct development
workshops and to put up plays. In 1995, he was appointed
Principal designate of the I.T.C Residential school and he
remained till 1999 as the Senior Academic Resource to the
ITC-Education Trust. He continued to hold workshops on
Communication, Stress management, Personality development
and Drama for various institutions and corporate house, and
is a popular speaker at numerous forums. He was also the
Coordinator of WWF-India’s activities in the four southern
states where has expertise in ethologic and wild animal care
been given full rein. His interest in psychometric has
resulted in the development of numerous tests both online
and offline which are used extensively by several
institutions including the Indian School of Business, an
several commercial establishments. He conducts regular
workshops for government officers and corporate houses and
is a regular external faculty member of The Administrative
Staff College of India, Hyderabad. Dr. Acharya advised the
Government of Andhra Pradesh on International Education and
was in the process of establishing an International
School in Hyderabad. He was also, briefly, with the
Corporate Group, Bennett, Coleman& Co. Ltd. After which he
returned to Hyderabad.
He was, till very recently the Director (Corporate
Philosophy) and Chief Knowledge Officer of C & K Management
Led., where he looked after the content creation for the
Manage mentor.Com vortal that catered working professionals
worldwide. He was also the Chief Editor of The Hindu,
Opportunities, a supplement that accompanies The
Hindu every Wednesday and he also edited the
Appointment Times, a four supplement per week pull-out
of the Khaleej Times, Dubai UAE. He is a
prolific writer, widely published both in India and abroad.
The subjects on which he writes are as eclectic as him, and
include Human Resource Development, organization behavior,
animal care, lifestyle and travelogues. He is associated
with several schools, serving on the boards of governors,
and has developed methodologies to provide need-based
training to the staff of schools and colleges. He launched
his own consultancy that deals with psychometrics,
competency mapping, education, training and development. The
organization, AA Associates, has an Asia-wide
reach and is the preferred choice for institutes and
companies involved in eLearning and the development of
eModules. Dr. Acharya has also designed primary and
secondary schools, developing curricular that is fast
gaining the interest of other countries as it has proved to
be most effective in rural and suburban India.
He is presently a Director of the Pailan Education Group
looking after the interests of all the institutes under the
purview of the group such as the Pailan world School,
Pailan College of Management and Technology, pailan
Institute of International Studies,
Trident College of marine Technology, pailan Aviation
Institute and the Pailan Academy of Competitive
Examinations. |
