Last Friday, 31st July PWS held its annual Prize Giving. Around 100 parents and friends attended and were treated to a lively concert, followed by the distribution of prizes.
The occasion was graced by the presence of the chief guest Dr Kedar Ranjan Vanerjee, the secretary of the national Institute of Behavioural Sciences and a member of the School Board of Governors.
Another important guest was Board Member, Mrs Andrews who assisted with the distribution of prizes.
The concert was a stunning collage of intercultural items reflecting the diversity of cultures in India and the world.
The Prayer Song introduced the concert and was followed by an Indian Classical dance item.
Next came a Japanese Dance, followed by a Bihu dance. Two international items, a French Song and the Spanish Dance then entertained the audience with their international flavour.
The concert concluded with a Rajasthani Dance, followed by the choir leading the whole cast on stage by singing “We are the World”.
It can be said that despite the terrific heat, the audience was wholly absorbed by the entertainment and thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
Congratulations must go to all the performers, their teachers for preparing them and the musicians who accompanied them.
Thank you to all staff who assisted in any way for your assistance, and a special compliment to Mrs Manjula Chatterjee, the school’s Academic Coordinator who spent many hours preparing and arranging the whole afternoon.
