Summer Holiday Trip for Grades X & XII to Digha:-

We are ready well before time and anxiously waiting for our much awaited departure to Digha. After gobbling down our lunch we boarded our busses and started for Digha. It was a long six hour trip, with most of us sleeping, while some chatting away. After reaching Digha we looked for the hotel to check in , unfortunately we couldn’t be accommodated so we settled for another named “Hotel Sonar Bangla”. We were all allotted rooms with three guys in each room.

The sea breeze was inviting, we freshened up and headed for the beach for a stroll at old Digha. The long exhausting journey made us  awfully hungry, so we trooped back to the hotel to wolf some dinner. It was around 9 pm that we hit the bed and slept like babies.

The warm sunshine streaming through the windows made us jump-it was 7 in the morning. After a hearty breakfast, we moved to the  Digha beach.Oh! What a game of soccer we had and then washed in the muddy and salty sea , to be weighed down with kilos of sand. Returning to the hotel we bathed thoroughly and rested.

At dusk we were thrilled to watch the fiery orange sun dipping in the horizon-ideal for snapshots, with gulls wheeling. Dinner over, we didn’t sleep, but played pranks with each other and disturbed the  teachers on the intercom.

Behind the Screen-Unsung Heroes:-

There is much work that is done behind the screen and goes unnoticed. Starting from upgrading the website and infrastructure to providing computer aid and assisting in accounts or ordering books or most important receiving the phone calls, the administrative department toils 24 x 7 to help all the members of PWS and they do all that with a smile. We should take some time off to let them know at times that we do care to stand and stare at their work and appreciate, thanking them for the same.
