JAPAN SHOTOKAN KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP:- FROM 23RD TO 25TH OF AUGUST 2008 THE 4TH JAPAN SHOTOKAN KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP WAS HELD AT THE WORLD FAMOUS MANCHESTER VELODROME STADIUM. SEVEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY STUDENTS FROM FORTY FIVE COUNTRIES WERE PRESENT. NINE STUDENTS FROM INDIA ALONG WITH THE COACH AND REFEREE MR. TIRTHANKAR NANDY WAS PRESENT TO REPRESENT OUR MOTHERLAND. NONE OF THE COUNTRIES FROM THE INDIAN SUB-CONTINENT COULD MANAGE THEIR VISAS. EVEN A BIG TEAM FROM UTTAR PRADESH AND DELHI DID NOT GET THE VISAS. IN THAT WAY THE BENGAL TEAM WAS LUCKY TO REPRESENT THE COUNTRY IN THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. THE STUDENTS FROM PAILAN WORLD SCHOOL WHO WON MEDALS WERE, SNEHADEEP CHATTERJEE (BRONZE) ABHISHAK RAJ (BRONZE) NILAVRO BHANJA (BRONZE) AND ANSHU KALRA (BRONZE) EXPERIMENTS ON OUR LABORATORY:- Experiments are conducted regularly for Biology, Chemistry & Physics in the Science Laboratory. Mr. S.K. Ghosh Roy conducts the experiments with the subject teachers. An experiment was conducted by Mr. Ghosh Roy on Stomata and onion peeling as seen under the microscope in the photo. PRIZE DISTRIBUTION FOR ACTIVITY:- Academic Prize distribution in Junior section on open house:- TEACHERS DAY 2008:- INTER HOUSE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT:- Second Inter House Football tournament was conducted by the sports department from 1st September 2008. During the tournament students got a chance to show their stupendous skill and overwhelming performance. At the end of the tournament Sunbeams became the champion house in sub Junior Category, Rohini becomes the champion house in Junior & Prithvi house became in Senior category with Noah Lalrochara , Rahul Bohra and Zoheb Hamya being the highest goal scorers as their Categories respectively. Inter House Basketball:- First Inter House Basketball tournament is to commence from 15th September 2008. The tournament well be played in two categories where the boys & girls will get a chance to show their skill, temperament and attitude . The final are Schedule on 22nd and 23rd September for Juniors and Seniors respectively.   ACHIEVEMENT  OF  THE  P.W.S. STUDENTS IN ART COMPETITION:- It  is  with pleasure that  our  Art students  have  participated  in the  2nd Inter School Sit &       Draw competition organized  by  K.E.  CARMEL SCHOOL Amtala, held  on 12 th. Sept. 2008.The  competition was  divided  in three categories. Group A, Group B & C. ( From Junior  to Senior  sections) 12 No. of students took part in the  event. 1st 2nd  3rd & 4th. prize( Consolation ) was  awarded from each group. From Group A - . From Junior Section Rohit  Roy  of  Class -3   awarded a  consolation prize  (4th –position ) with a     participation certificate   & a  cash prize  of  Rs. 100. From Group B - From Senior  Section Aishi Baidya  of  class -7 stood  1st position and was  awarded a certificate  of  merit with a Medal & a cash prize  of  Rs. 750/-.Renowned Schools  from all over the West Bengal took part in the  competition. All other  students  received  the  participation certificates. This  achievements   by our  students is well appreciated. Congratulation to them all of  them.
